Yalisombo was situated across the river from Yakusu.
Stanley Browne’s archives at the Wellcome Library include a handwritten map of the Yakusu District with the tribal villages marked in. There are also Browne’s population analyses and summaries according to tribal origins and also by age for Yakusu and surrounding areas. Between 1954-55 there are analyses by village according to gender, age, treatment, and type of leprosy.
Lantern slides from the Angus Library, Regent’s Park College also show plans for Yalisombo and Yakusu. In addition, there are some early reports relating to Chesterman’s and later Browne’s survey work there. In the 40s one report for Yakusu describes providing ambulatory treatment for a total 3531 patients from 15 dispensaries and 35 treatment centres.
