The Kondova Leper Home was founded by the Scottish Mission in 1910 and run by them until 1942 when it was then given to the Bombay Government. In May 1956 it was handed over to the Poona District Leprosy Committee. The Kondova Unit depicts the actual working of a unique rehabilitation programme for the handicapped of whom over 90% are leprosy cured persons both men and women. A video cassette is available which shows the complete shopfloor activities based on the Mehta Co-operative Rehabilitation Model. Details of the work are also available in a booklet and pamphlet form.
