Notes

The National Library of Colombia, Bogotá, contains over 117 documents on leprosy. These date from 1826 to 1947. Many are published articles from medical journals. Articles from the Medical Journal of Bogotá (Revista Médica de Bogotá), the Bulletin of Medicine of Cauca (Boletín de Medicina del Cauva), the Annals of the Academy of Medicine of Medellín (Anales de la Academia de Medicina de Medellín), the Bulletin of Medicine of Barranquilla (Boletín de Medicina de Barranquilla), the Journal of the Faculty of Medicine (Revista de la Facultad de Medicina), the Repertoire of Medicine and Surgery (Repertorio de Medicina y Cirugía), the Journal of Hygiene (Revista de Higiene), and the Clinical Bulletin of Medellín (Revista Clínica de Medellín).

The collection refers to leprosaria at the following: Agua de Dios (this includes a doctoral thesis by Benjamín Núñez (1897) and a report by Arturo Arboleda and Julio Manrique (1913)); on the leprosarium of Contratacíon at Santander; Caño de Loro in Cartegena; Antioquia, Medellin; Cauca in Popayán; and Nariño (1917-18). There is a 1911-12 report on leprosaria in Colombia and documents on leprosaria for 1917-18.
