Notes

Victor Klingmüller, MD ( 1870-1942) was a German Professor and Dean of Dermatology at Kiel University from 1906. At one time he was a Councillor of the International Leprosy Association. Klingmüller was an outstanding clinician specialising on tuberculosis of the skin and he wrote many papers on the subject. His best known contributions in print are “Tuberkuloid Lesions,” published in LEPRA 1, p. 30, and his book Die Lepra (1930), the most comprehensive compendium and analysis of leprosy ever written. In his later years he continued to update his monograph on leprosy to keep track of medical advances, thereby consolidating his place at the forefront of his field.
