Petrus Hendricus Jozef Lampe, MD (1895-1966) was an eminent Dutch physician and researcher of the epidemiology of leprosy. He was one of the founding members of the International Leprosy Association and contributing editor to the International Journal of Leprosy from the Netherlands, East Indies and Batavia. In 1933, he was honored by Her Majesty the Queen of the Netherlands as an Officer of the Order of Oranje Nassau. From 1933 to 1941 he was director general of the Institute of Leprosy Research, Batavia, Indonesia and, from 1952 to 1956, he served as a specialist in leprosy and medical education for the WHO in Burma.
