Alexander Alexandrovich Stein, MD (1895-1971), Russian doctor, was director of the chair of skin and venereal diseases of the Lvov Medical Institute. From 1941 to 1947 he was a contributing editor for the International Journal of Leprosy. He worked for more than 40 years on leprology and published more than 60 research papers on this disease, including studies on lipids in leprosy.
